About Bakehouse Express
Bakehouse Express is an artisan bakery in Colchester town centre, found at 68 Culver Street East, CO1 1LF. The approach is artisan: smaller batches, longer fermentation and seasonal bakes.
We do not yet hold confirmed opening times for Bakehouse Express. Independent bakeries often sell out and close early, so check before you travel. At its most recent food hygiene inspection on 30 June 2026, Colchester gave the business a rating of 4 out of 5 – a respectable result.
Arriving by public transport? Head for Colchester Town station; from there it is a walk of about 6 minutes. 6 other bakeries sit within about ten minutes' walk, which makes Colchester Centre a good area to compare loaves and cakes.
